Lubricating Canada’s ‘well-oiled’ economic engine in ‘Fort Mac’
BOSS Lubricants plants flag in Fort McMurray with new branch location—strengthening our energy industry support, expanding our northern Alberta footprint
CALGARY, Canada (Sept. 16, 2024)—The energy industry continues to power the Canadian economy.
There’s no doubt about it. In fact, the raw data continues to prove it.
Alberta recently surpassed another milestone in the responsible production of oil—averaging 4 million barrels of oil per day in July, the highest level ever recorded in the month of July. Over the first seven months of 2024, Alberta oil production has averaged 3.9 million barrels a day—another first for the province, and a good 200,000 barrels a day more than the previous record set in 2023.
A booming energy industry means opportunity for companies that lubricate that finely tuned economic engine.
Enter BOSS Lubricants.
We recently opened a branch office in Fort McMurray, the nerve center of Canada’s petroleum industry—our sixth branch location in Alberta, and the 11th branch/warehouse/storage/distribution facility in our cross-Canada distribution network.
“We’ve always taken pride in the scope and efficiency of our distribution network in serving Canada’s petroleum industry. Establishing such an emphatic presence in Fort McMurray gives us the undisputed ability to serve customers in northeastern Alberta better than any of our competitors from across the province,” says Jarrett Flegel, President and Chief Operations Officer of Calgary-based BOSS Lubricants.
Only 13 months ago, BOSS set up shop in Grande Prairie, adding to our existing Alberta branch locations in Calgary, Edmonton, Lethbridge, Plamondon and Red Deer.
“We’re proud to plant the BOSS flag in Fort McMurray, which is all part of our strategic plan to expand our northern Alberta footprint,” says Flegel. “Fort McMurray gives us the final piece of that strategy—establishing a bricks-and-mortar presence, and maintaining our commitment to building and investing in our Western Canadian market.”
Significantly, says Flegel, the new Fort McMurray location enables BOSS to better offer our exceptional fleet delivery service to all Shell customers in northern Alberta. BOSS is a longtime authorized lubricant distributor for Shell, as well as TotalEnergies, Aspen and Jack of All Sprays.
The new BOSS branch office in Fort McMurray includes a 7,000-square-foot warehouse, and is located in the south end of the city—just minutes from the airport, with exceptional highway access in any direction.
