Former BOSS employee ready to rev it up on the court in the Motor City

Cameron McMaster commits to NCAA Div. 1 University of Detroit Mercy women’s basketball squad

CALGARY, Canada (Nov. 27, 2024)—A member of the BOSS family is headed to the big leagues of American women’s college basketball.

As of the fall of 2025, Cameron McMaster will be battling it out on the boards as a rookie forward with the University of Detroit Mercy Titans. The six-foot-three McMaster, a native of Calgary, AB who plays high school ball in Orangeville, ON, committed to the Titans on Nov. 19.

“We are very excited to have Cam join the Titan family,” said Detroit Mercy head coach Kate Achter. ‘She is a tough and versatile forward who fits the needs of our post group. Cam will bring size and international playing experience to our roster, and above all else, she is a fantastic student and even better person.”

The Titans compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s (NCAA) Division I as a member of the Horizon League.

The daughter of a BOSS Lubricants employee and a former BOSS employee herself, McMaster helped the Orangeville Prep Academy battle all the way to the provincial championship game of the Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association’s 2023-24 Trillium Final in March.

She also helped lead the Indigenous Alberta team to a gold medal at the 2023 North American Indigenous Games in Halifax, N.S., and captured bronze with Team Alberta at the 2024 Canada Basketball 17U national championship tournament in August at St. John’s, NL.

“We’ve sponsored Cameron in the past and supported her all the way. We feel like Cameron is part of the BOSS family, and we are so proud of her accomplishments,” says BOSS Lubricants President and Chief Operating Officer Jarrett Flegel.
