BOSS acquires Daystar Petroleum, boosts northern Alberta service coverage

CALGARY, Canada (April 23, 2021)—BOSS Lubricants, Western Canada’s largest independent lubricant manufacturer, has further expanded its Alberta distribution and delivery network by acquiring Edmonton-based Daystar Petroleum Ltd.

BOSS Lubricants, founded in 1992, already operates nine warehouse distribution facilities across Canada, including Alberta-based locations in Edmonton, Calgary, Plamondon, Red Deer and Lethbridge. Daystar, a bulk oil and package lubricant company, has operated since 1997.

“Our team has been successful in serving our customers throughout the years, and this opportunity is the next step as part of our strategic growth plan. I’ve been working with BOSS Lubricants in different capacities over the years, and I knew they would be a good fit for our customers,” say Joe Stang, and Joanne Dykstra, co-owners of Daystar Petroleum. “They have made taking care of their customers and employees their highest priority.”

The acquisition closed effective April 15, 2021.
