CALGARY, Canada (June 7, 2021)—More product storage, and greater price stability.

That’s what BOSS Lubricants has achieved in the past week, thanks to the arrival of six new mammoth storage tanks at our Calgary warehouse.

Each tank holds about 93,000 litres of product. The installation of these six tanks allows for the retirement of some older, smaller tanks—and brings total tank storage at our indoor, climate-controlled Calgary plant to about 3.8 million litres. The six tanks were trucked from Bow Island, AB to Calgary last week.

“We’re making this investment for our customers, says Jarrett Flegel, President and Chief Operating Officer of BOSS Lubricants. “With this extra storage capacity, we can order more quantities to be shipped by rail—and create as much price stability as we can for our customers.

“The more storage we have, the more we can insulate our customers from price shocks caused by base oil refiners,” he adds. “We’ve seen four base oil price hikes in the past four months, and we wanted to do more to protect our customers.”

Along with this added capacity of about 275,000 litres, BOSS Lubricants’ spacious Calgary plant offers a full range of terminal service options for our products, including:

  • Shipping out via rail car

  • Offloading into tankers for local, regional or long-haul distribution and delivery

  • Warehouse storage for a later distribution date.

“We work hard to provide quality products, exceptional service, timely support and competitive pricing every day,” says Jarrett. “This tank project is a great example of our commitment in action.”
